The Taiwanese Ambassador to the Gambia H.E Dr Patrick Chang recently presented a cheque for $477,000 to the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology at his office in Kanifing.

The money is a part payment for the construction of a science and Math’s academy in Kanilai.

In presenting the cheque, Ambassador Chang expressed delight at making the payment on behalf of his government. He said that science and technology is very important in the face of globalization. When completed he said the academy would contribute immensely towards the attainment of the Silicon Valley dream.

For his part, Secy. Sallah thanked the Taiwanese government through ambassador Chang for their relentless contribution to the development of The Gambia.
