18 Guineans Freed

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

The 18 Guinean nationals that were arrested nearly a month ago in a police swoop on Boy Bansang’s compound in Serekunda have been freed.

The men were earlier on charged for wandering about for illegal purposes but were last week acquitted and discharged of the charge by the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, chaired by magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh.

Magistrate Jammeh was convinced that the men have now simmered down and were ready to amend their old-ways. He nonetheless cautioned them to be of good behaviour and not be of nuisance to the neighbourhood.

He then thanked the security task force for their breakthrough in rounding up the men and urged them to keep up the momentum.
