Thursday, June 21, 2007

Kawsu Jarju, the second accused person in the on-going murder of Ron Ford, on Thursday, 14 June 2007, testified before senior Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

In his testimony, Mr. Jarju told the court that he was never questioned by personnel of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), but alleged that he was severely beaten.

At that juncture, an exhibit was given to him to peruse. After going through the said exhibit, he told the court that he had recognised it because he’s not literate in English. He also noted that he thumb-printed it under duress.

Mr. Jarju also told the court that he had a problem with one Mr. Kargbo, and in his NIA colleagues. He denied knowing one Momdou Salieu Jallow, prior to his detention of the NIA.

The case was adjourned to  today.
