The National Training Authority (NTA), on Tuesday conducted a one-day validations workshop on its registration and accreditation standard, at the Paradise Suites Hotel in Kololi.

Declaring the workshop opened, Dr. Saidou Jallow, Permanent Secretary, Department of State for Higher Education and Research on behalf of the Secretary of State, said the forum is a follow up to the earlier seminars where training providers were accorded the opportunity to discuss and develop quality assurance and mechanisms that would ensure integrity and recognition of skills development processes and procedures in The Gambia.

“This is why today participants are being accorded the final opportunity to review and revise the new registration and accreditation instruments which are supported by self-assessments and evaluation instruments” he said.

He noted that from now on, The Gambia like other countries will undertake the registration and accreditation training providers, trainers, assessors, verifiers and assessment administration centres.

Abdoulie Jallow, Director of Quality Assurance at the National Training Authority made a presentation on The Gambia Skills Qualifications Frame-work (GSQF), while Momodou Bittaye made his presentation on the registration and accreditation.
