Darlings of the Fans’ Initiative in High Gear

Monday, April 2, 2007
The Operation Canada Darling of the Fans initiative geared towards raising funds for a successful participation of the Gambia U-20 in the FIFA Youth Championship in Canada will today stage another draw at the Joint Officers Mess in Kotu.

However, the draw, which is a weekly programme, is staged every Monday at 8.00pm on the Gambia Radio and Television Services.

Those who were sending SMS messages or call 105 from either Gamcel, Gamtel or Africell lines to vote for the player of their choice and those who attend the draw after paying an entrance fee of D50, could be lucky winners.

During the first draw last Monday, lucrative prizes were won by different winners who took part in sending SMS, calling 105 and those who paid entrance fee to attend the hall. The winners walked away with DVD players, bicycles, cell phones and other items.

According to the Operation Canada campaign committee, all Gambians, especially fans of the Gambia U-20, are all encouraged to participate in the fundraising event as participants may also be lucky to win three tickets to Canada at the final draw.
