About 76 police officers from various police stations across the country recently took part in a four-day training workshop held at President Jammeh’s Officers’ Mess in Kotu.
Addressing the participants at opening ceremony of the forum, Ousman Sonko, Secretary of State for the Interior, emphasized the significance of the four-day training workshop, admonishing participants to utilize the knowledge gained.
“The training is expected to build your capacities so as to enable you effectively apply yourselves in the execution of your duties and responsibilities,” he added.
Also addressing participants, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Modou Gaye, reiterated that the training would, in no small measure, enhanced the performance of participants in their policing duties, especially when it comes to dealing with suspects.
He however advised participants against molesting people in the execution of their duties.
A former police chief, FRI Jammeh, spoke at length and urged the participants to strive towards rendering effective services for sustained socio-economic growth.
