As the countdown to the imminent Local Government elections diminishes, the National Reconciliation Party-sponsored candidates for Kuntaur and Fula Bantang wards, Sibity Jallow and Salif Jawo, held series of political meetings in their wards.
At meetings in Sukuta, Kuntaur and Jarumeh Kuta on Wednesday, January 16, Sibity Jallow, the candidate for Kuntaur ward, called on party supporters to consolidate their support and strengthen their loyalty to NRP, promising to improve their welfare if they vote for him.
Darboe Jaiteh, a staunch supporter, called on party members to remain steadfast and maintain their support for the NRP candidate. He further advised them to be law-abiding to ensure hitch-free elections.
Lie Konteh, another supporter, called on the people of Kuntaur ward to vote massively for the NRP candidate, saying that he is the only one who can improve the welfare of the people.
The erstwhile Councillor for Fula Bantang ward, Salif Jawo, who is seeking to retain his seat, held meetings at Pacharr, Sinchu Yero, Konko Fula, Sare Balla and Jida. Mr Jawo’s address in all the venues dwelt at length on the important role councillors play in society. He urged his people to abide by the electoral laws and maintain peace to ensure smooth conduct of the campaign.
Nyima Jallow for her part called on the people to vote for Salif on January 24, noting that having served in the position, Mr Jawo’s commitment speak volumes for his good intentions.
Mr Alieu Baldeh also spoke glowingly of the NRP candidate’s qualities.
