The Upper Nuimi District tournament sponsored by the National Assembly member of the area Honorable Cherno Omar Jallow, kicked off last weekend at the Nuimi Lamin football field.

The opening match between Albreda and Toubakolong which was keenly contested but ended goal-less was attended by Secretary of State for Forestry, Momodou Kotu Cham, who took the kick-off.

In attendance at the opening were Edward Seckan, governor for North Bank Region, the Chief for Upper Nuimi, and National Assembly members namely Cherno Omar Jallow for Upper Nuimi, Lamin K. Jammeh for Central Badibu, Ebrima Jammeh of Foni Bintang, and Alh Matarr Kujabi of Foni Bondali.

On Sunday, Lamin Niumi defeated Juffure 2-0.

Upcoming weekend matches for Group B include Kerr Mama against Sameh on Friday; Pakau Njogu to meet Kahel on Saturday, while Kerr Mama will clash with Pakau Saloum.
