The final list of short-listed nominees have been released by the Organizing Committee of the 2007 National Sports awards at the launching of its maiden initiative recently at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.

The award which is organised by the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia in collaboration with Football Digest Newspaper, is to include the general public to participate in the final selection of awardees through major sponsors Africell’s hotline 7167.

Fans of short-listed nominees can vote by sending SMS, carry the names of their nominees to 7167.

Namory Trawally, President of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia, said the voting process, which is currently on, will continue until December 26, at 3pm.

He commended major sponsors Africell , other sponsors and media partners namely Kairaba Beach Hotel, GRTS, KWT Radio, West Coast Radio and The Point Newspaper for the interest they have in the development of Gambian sports.

The sports journalists prexy called on the general public to actively participate in the voting process for a successful staging of the event.

The following people were short-listed candidates and could be potential winners of various categories of the Awards slated for December 26 at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
