Samger FC are the 2008 Kanifing Municipal Sport committee pre-season Champions after beating Steve Biko FC in a rescheduled final, by a lone goal to nil at the Sere Kunda East Mini Stadium, on Friday 8th February 2008.

The only goal of the game was scored in the first minute of the first half. The game was described by most people as among the best games so far in the tournament.

Samger FC gained promotion to the GFA first division football league, last season after a surprise late qualification, when the Western Region boys failed to win their last game against Ham Ham FC in the last matches of the G F A second division league, last season.
