UDP Campaign Manager’s case adjourned

The criminal trial involving Lamin Cham, UDP Campaign Manager for Serrekunda Central was on Tuseday, adjourned to March 20, as the new Prosecutor Corporal 722 Samateh, requested for more time to familiarise himself with the case.

Mr Cham has since pleaded not guilty on changes of obstruction and acting in a manner which breached the peace, an offence contrary to the Criminal Code and the 1990 Public Order Act.

According to the charges, Mr Cham obstructed one Baboucarr Jabbie, IEC Presiding Officer for Bundung Borehole Polling Station (33A), during the National Assembly elections on January 25. He was also accused of having acted in a manner likely to breach peace on the election day at the same location.

The accused, Mr Lamin Cham and his Counsel Ousman Dibba, were present at the court.
