Magistrate Richards, on Wednesday convicted and sentenced Yai Rose Camara of London Corner to a fine of D2,500 or in default to serve six-month imprisonment for unlawful assembly.

Yai Minteh was hauled to the court for mobilising youth to demonstrate, following the sudden death of Sheriff Minteh of Serrekunda London Corner in a raid by the police.

It could be recalled that early this month, the incident caused alarm in Kanifing Municipality, forcing some businesses to shut operation for the day, as well as necessitated the deployment of the security to disperse the youths in the environ.
