A Gambian Lady Bags UN Job

Ms Mamissa Mboob, daughter of the former Secretary of State for Agriculture, Sulayman Mboob, has been appointed as a Project Manager by the United Nations Global Fund based in Switzerland, this paper has reliably learnt through competent sources. Ms Mboob’s appointment is reported to have taken effect from October 2007.

Prior to her latest appointment, Ms Mboob had worked with the Department of State for Economic Affairs as an economist before working with the Department of State for Trade, Industry and Employment as a Senior Trade Economist and head of the trade division.

A graduate of the London School of Economics, Ms Mboob is also a holder of a Masters degree from Franklin Pierce Law Centre, Concord, USA. At the time of her appointment she was doing her sabbatical at the World Trade Organisation (WTO). With her appointment, Ms Mboob is the first ever Gambian to be appointed by the UN Global Fund in Geneva.
