Baba Jobe, former Jarra West National Assembly Member, and eight other co-defendants, have been dragged to the High Court by Total Fina Elf Gambia Limited.
The plaintiff, Total Fina Elf, is claiming from the defendants the sum of US$778, 948.15 “being money owed to it under delivery invoices signed under the authorisation of the defendants.”
In addition to the principal amount, according to the particulars of claim, interest on the said amount at the rate of 28% per annum from the 30th day of October 2002, plus costs and other incidentals are also being claimed.
The other defendants are Salieu M. Jallow, Lloyd Burrough, Amadou Samba, Tarek Musa, Mohammed Bozzi, Lynn C. Willson, Phillip Thompsett and Salieu A. Jallow.
The case was presided over by Justice Ota of the Banjul High Court.
The case was adjourned to 11th February 2008 for continuation.
