33-Year-Old in Need of Urgent Assistance

In a call for humanitarian assistance for the needy, a 33 year old, one Momodou Lamin Sanneh, has contacted The Point in hopes of receiving financial assistance in order to address his urgent medical problems. Mr. Sanneh, who resides at Bundung, has been suffering from serial chronic lymphadenitis since 1987.

Mr. Sanneh, who was diagnosed at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), has a left leg that is very swollen.  He underwent surgery in 1994 in an effort to correct the problem but the surgery was largely unsuccessful.

According to a confidential medical report that reached The Point newspaper through RVTH, the patient, the needy Mr. Sanneh, “has been having ulcerations since his first operation and his leg is still chronically elephantoid, tender and hard.

His current infection from the ulcer is complicated by a groin lymph node swelling.”

Mr. Sanneh is therefore urgently seeking immediate humanitarian assistance.   He asks everyone, particularly the president, Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, NGO’s embassy or any other individuals to come to his aid and assist him in obtaining overseas medical treatment.

It is clear that the young Momodou Lamin Sanneh is bitterly suffering from his various medical issues.  The hospital report states that Mr. Sanneh “may benefit from further investigations such as lymphangiography or vono-graphy.”  Unfortunately these treatments and procedures are unavailable in the Gambia so it has become necessary for him to leave the country for additional medical attention.

“In this case of chronic elephantiasis it is unlikely that Mr. Sanneh will benefit from any surgical intervention to save him from amputations.  However, in the absence of specific diagnosis due to lack of specific investigation Mr. Sanneh may benefit from such facilities and subsequent treatment abroad,” states the report issued by the medical board at RVTH.

In light of this young man’s difficult situation it is apparent that his need is very great.  The Point urges its readers to help this man in any way that they can.

Mr. Sanneh can be reached at the following number; 7063540, 6825342, 6580281, and reached through email at bohointernational@Yahoo.com .  Please contact him if you can be of any assistance.
