Brusubi ‘murderers’ plead not guilty

Three persons, Makudu Jahateh, Alieu Saine and Sheikh Tabu Jagne, who are accused of murdering the late Alieu Jaw, in Brusubi, on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty to three count charges before Principal Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrates Court.

According to the particulars of the offense, the three, on 19 September, 2008, at the Brusubi Roundabout, Western Region, conspired to commit felony.

It was also stated that the trio, on the same day, place and time, committed robbery with violence.

When the charge sheet was read to them in a packed courtroom, they all denied the charges. Magistrate Kumba Sillah Camara ruled that they be remanded at the State Central Prison at Mile Two, while the trial progresses.

She adjourned the case to October 22, for the prosecution officer, Inspector Saine, to open his case.
