Global Unification Unveils Plan of Action

At a meeting held at the African in Democracy and good Governance offices at Churchill’s town recently, Global Unification The Gambia chapter unveiled their action plan for the year 2008.

The National Representative of Global Unification, Mr. Ebrima Dem, chaired the meeting and presented the association’s strategic plan to members.

He thanked members for attending the meeting which he described as critical. He further commended all GU members for participating in the recently concluded local Government Election, as election observers, under the patronage of ADG – one of their potential partners.

Mr.Dem also noted with delight that the fact that GU’s invaluable contribution has not gone unnoticed this, he added, is a moral boost and showed the commitment of the association to the advancement of humanity and the total development of the society, which is its main objective.

“We also want to contribute our quarter towards the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals,” he said.

According to Mr. Dem, preparations for the launch of the GU magazine later this month are in high gear. He stressed that this year would be a busy one for GU and the members should redouble their efforts to enable them accomplish the tasks ahead of them.

Other important items discussed was the organisation of a seminar on women’s empowerment aimed at capacitating and upgrading the skills of women so as to enhance their strategic needs; the establishment of the GU IT Centre. He thanked the embassy of the great Libyan Arab Jamahiriya for supporting their 2007, One Voice One Action One Africa Campaign. This he said, has had the backing of this group and it aims at creating greater awareness among Gambian people especially youths, about the need for Africa to unite and work towards a common objective of total independence and self-reliance, for sustainable development.
 
Anthony Mendy the Head of the Advocacy, Lobbying and Campaign domain delivered the vote of thanks.
