One Sulayman Bah was recently arraigned before Magistrate Moses Richards of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with the murder of one Momodou Bah. The accused is alleged to have inflicted fatal injuries on the deceased, contrary to section 187 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Laws of The Gambia.
According to the particulars of offence, Sulayman Bah on 1st September 2007 at Latrikunda German stabbed Momodou Bah around the neck, killing him. The accused appeared before Magistrate Richards yesterday, 26th September 2007.
According to Magistrate Richards, the court would not allow any plea for the murderer but preside over the charge brought against him with no option or clemency from the murder.
The accused broke down in tears and begged for the court to have mercy on him. The case was adjourned to a later date for conviction and sentence.
The court however ordered that the accused person be remanded in custody at Mile 2.
