Six of the twelve teams competing in the Africell-sponsored Pirang Village nawettan championship in Western Region have cruised to the quarter-finals. The teams were Barcelona, Gamstar, Liverpool, Sunshine, Kanyi and VV Rappin.

After weeks of heated matches in those characterised preliminaries, Barcelona will take on VV Rappin on Wednesday, while Gamstar FC, one of the oldest teams in Pirang, will meet Kanyi on Tuesday. Liverpool will lock horns with Sunshine on Thursday.

Many soccer fans described this year’s nawettan as the best in the past 10 years, owing to the efficiency of the organising committee and the partnership of Africell.
