Barrow Kunda Community Embark on Cleansing Exercise

The Village Development Committee (VDC) of Wuli Barrow Kunda in Upper River Region, in collaboration with Beakanyang Kafo, Tostan and Fight Against Malaria last Saturday embarked on a massive cleansing exercise in the village. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Karamo Touray Chairman of the VDC described the exercise as important as it would reduce the spread of malaria in the village. Oustass Yahya Sumareh, Board chairman of Beakanyang, commended the people for coming out in large numbers and actively participating in the exercise. Sulay Danjo, Public Relations Officer of Beakanyang, used the opportunity to appeal to NGOs and philanthropists to help them with cleansing materials such as rakes and wheelbarrows among other things.
