Addressing hundreds of supporters yesterday at a rally in Ebo Town Mr Modou I. Cham (better known as MC Cham) the independent candidate for Ebo Town ward, has declared his commitment to stand by his people if elected as their representative at local government elections slated for 24th January.
I will exert every effort to help and empower the people who choose me to represent them at the local councils, he said, while calling on all to rally behind him for the development and progress of his ward.
Town ward would like to ensure their opportunity for choosing a trustworthy representative who can defend their interest at the council.
“People should be given the opportunity to discuss and decide on the candidates of their choice and nominate them,” he said, expressing optimism in winning the seat.
The confident MC Cham who expressed his confidence in his ability to empower Gambian youths if elected to represent them, noted that inorder to strive earnestly towards the country’s development, priority should be given to youth empowerment, for without the youth there could not be any meaningful and sustainable development.
MC Cham observed that inorder to realise the long standing desire of the ward, residents should follow the right course by voting massively for him come 24th January Local Government elections.
In another development, the independent candidate for Bakau New Town - Fajara ward, Mr Nuha Fatty, told these reporters that he would win hands down as he had the support of the people.
