Senior Magistrate Edrissa M’bai of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on Monday February 4th, warned all women especially those in Brikama to desist from forming small “susu” kafoo in their areas. He noted that this “susu” is only formed to cause trouble and add more burdens to them.
He made this warning while presiding over the case of one Fatu Bojang against four plaintiffs who are claiming the sum of D3,000 each as a result of this “susu”.
Magistrate M’bai went on to advise the women that it’s better to open an account for themselves at the bank. This will ensure such problems do not arise.
Magistrate M’bai also told the court that these are petty cases which should not be wasting court time. He finally warned, “I will not entertain cases of this nature.”
